In 1974 there were 5 artists in the Conway League of Artists, who were watercolor and oil painters. Through the years, we have added many more members who were gouache and acrylic painters along with many mixed media artists. We had pencil, charcoal and pastel artists. We also had sculptors in stone, metal and assemblage. We had collage artists, photographers, and even d a bonsai artist. We now have 75 members-and we are very diverse!!
Early meetings were held at the Snow Art Center at UCA? Is that the present Baum Gallery? Then the Salem Methodist Church hosted the League meetings until April of 1997 when the League moved to the Faulkner County Library. Notes also indicate the no meetings were held in January and February due to the threat of snow! Can that be true?
