About Us

The Conway League of Artists is an art organization that strives to provide opportunities and visibility to artists in Conway and the surrounding areas.  The League’s mission statement is “enriching, promoting, and supporting the arts in Conway.” In 1973, the group started out with 5 members and has grown considerably to include a diverse group of members of all ages, art backgrounds, and experiences.  The League provides ways for artists to come together to share their artwork, skills, and knowledge through monthly meetings, artist presentations, art competitions, paint out events, and much more.

The League offers two art competitions a year; one in the fall and the other in the spring.  Individuals must be current on membership dues to participate in either show.  Members can also participate in the Art of the Month program by bringing one original artwork to be voted on at the monthly meeting.  The art pieces that receive the most votes are displayed at select locations in Conway during that month.

The Conway League of Artists also provides funds for UCA art students through the Dorris Curtis Scholarship Fund.  The fund was started in 1976 and was named after Dorris Curtis, one of the founders of the League and also a student at UCA.  Throughout the years, CLA has helped provide funds for this scholarship to assist UCA art students reach their career goals.

Through its early humble beginnings, the League has grown to be a well known art organization within Conway and the surrounding area.  The League’s main goal is to provide local artists opportunities to display artwork, share their skills, and inspire their vision.

If you are interested in joining us, please attend one of our monthly meetings- guests are always welcome.  We meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at the Faulkner County library.
