Having been a teacher for over 3 decades, I am now retired, relaxed, and finally making use of some of what I learned from teaching art to grades K-12 all those years. I am primarily a realist, but enjoy all forms and styles of art. Always drawn to impressionism, my painting style has slowly, yet deliberately, moved in that direction with a focus on my becoming more bold and free with color. I have grown to love experimenting with the pallet knife in acrylics as I work from photographs that catch my attention. Among my favorite subjects are local landscapes, where I attempt to capture in color the diverse nature and intricacies of our beautiful state. I also enjoy photographing and then painting people, pets, buildings, city scenes and seascapes. Currently a number of my paintings are on display and for sale at Gallery 246 in Batesville, AR.
