Albert Einstein once said, “creativity is intelligence having fun.” I fully ascribe to that theory.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always loved art – seeing it, making it, all of it.
As a child, I loved to draw and paint, but when I got older and began working I found it was very difficult to fit art into a busy career.

By the time I finally retired from hospice nursing my husband and I were living in central Arizona and I had fallen in love with Plein Air painting. So I taught myself oil painting and took workshops from some of my favorite Plein Air artists: Bill Cramer, Jim Woodark, and Tom Conner.

In 2021, my husband and I decided to move back home to Arkansas to be closer to family and I quickly discovered Plein Air painting isn’t quite as effortless here. So I have begun to paint portraits, pet portraits, and still life. I have even strayed from my beloved oils and dipped into the occasional pastel or watercolor. Who am I???

I joined CLA as soon as I discovered it and have made so many wonderful art friends.
I don’t know exactly how “intelligent” we all are, but we definitely focus on “having fun.”
