My love for art began when I was 9 years old in the Philippine Islands working with charcoal sketches. Being an Air Force brat and traveling quite a bit, I didn’t really get back into art until my twenties where I attended classes on stained glass in Austin, Tx. I moved to Phoenix, Az. to major in art. I had the great privilege of attending college art classes with my grandmother who inspired me as she was a wonderful southwestern artist herself. Putting my art aside, I moved to Arkansas and decided to go into the field of education. I obtained my B.S.E and M.S.E. and began my teaching career. I taught 27 years and recently retired. I am just now getting back into my first love “Art”. I recently joined the Conway League of Artists and am looking forward to working with a great group of talented artists.
I love creating whether it be with painting, drawing or being creative with my stained glass. The world of art is mine now to explore and express my creativity. I feel like “a babe in the woods” and it so exciting. My primary medium are oils and acrylics. My representation of art is expressed through many different styles. Albert Einstein said it best, “Creativity is contagious, pass it on!”
